Summer 2022 news

New contract wins

During March – May 22,  there have been three contract wins reported and the value of one previous contract win revised upwards, bringing the value of total wins for the quarter to £637,000.

This quarter has seen 15 new SMEs recruited. Five new buyers have been engaged. 15 local companies have been put forward for 19 opportunities from 6 buyers.

One to One support has been provided to 4 companies and further assistance to another.   An order was placed with Environ Property Services by Domus projects for a drain survey and repairs.

Contract Wins

  1. AGA Scaffolding Ltd was appointed by Sandwood at the Clem Atlee Estate project and we heard that Barski Developments Ltd was appointed last year for the renovation of a house for Stala Architects, following our introduction.
  2. Additional spend was incurred with Powerday for skip hire by Sandwood.
  3.  KP Acoustics has been invited to tender for noise monitoring by Domus Projects. Domus Projects has invited Rillion Group to tender for the Groundworks and basement package on their North End Road project following a meeting at the Networking event.
  4. Environ Property Services has been asked to quote for pest control services (pigeons) on the White City Living site by Rendall & Rittner, the St James managing agents.

Local Supply Chain Networking Event

H&F Local Supply Chain Support Project hosted a Networking event at 245 Hammersmith Road on 17th May for the more creative end of the construction industry. 31 people attended from 22 local SMEs. Architects, interior designers and technical building consultants came along who frequently refer each other to clients or sometimes directly commission work from each other.

There was also a hand picked group of specialist local trades and services whose work is often specified by architects and designers. The networking event was a good opportunity for them to meet talented people for the first time who are often based just down the road from them.

Joanna McCormick, Assistant Director of Procurement gave a welcome address and pledged to make it easier for local SMEs to access and win work from the Council.  The evening met with a very enthusiastic response from participants. Feedback indicated that 6 good contacts were made per delegate and 96% said they were very or extremely satisfied about the potential for future business.

By popular request we plan to hold another similar event in the autumn. Web:  www.hflocalsupplychain.net  email: lbhf@mtwconsultants.co.uk
